Amber Heard held back her tears Wednesday when the “Aquaman” actor took the stand for the first time to testify against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, in his $50 million defamation lawsuit against her. Depp, who played Jack Sparrow in the hit ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie series, has claimed that Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed had led to huge financial losses for him, along with causing the actor to be dropped from any future “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.
On the stand Wednesday, Heard claimed that that ex-husband Johnny Depp had physically and sexually abused her. When asked how she felt about being on the stand, Heard said, “I struggle to find the words to describe how painful this is,…This is the most painful and difficult thing I’ve ever gone through, for sure.”
Heard described an instance of violence from Depp when she explained how after she asked Depp about a tattoo of Winona Ryder on his arm with the words, “Wino Forever,” Heard laughed, “I just laughed because I thought he was joking,” Heard said before Depp slapped her across the face. “Then he slapped me again. It was clear: It wasn’t a joke anymore.”
In another instance, Heard claimed Depp performed a “cavity search” on her looking for his missing drugs after he thought another woman was flirting wth her. Heard said that Depp had ripped her dress and patted her down, “He was telling me, ‘We’re going to do a cavity search,’” Heard said while holding back here tears, “He just shoved his fingers inside me. I just stood there, staring at the lights.”
Heard had claimed on stand that Johnny Depp often uses drugs, which leads to erratic behavior. “I didn’t realize at the time, but I think he was using cocaine. Like there was a jar, a jar of cocaine on the table. I realize that sounds weird, but it’s like an actual vintage jar of it.”
Heard continued, “Johnny on speed is very different from Johnny on opiates. And Johnny on opiates — very different from Johnny on Adderall. And cocaine Johnny, which is very different from quaaludes Johnny.”
Amber Heard has also filed a $100 million counterclaim against Johnny Depp.
