Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and the board of his bankrupt film studio has reached a tentative $25 million dollar settlement with dozens of women who accused him of sexual misconduct.
Lawyers involved in the negotiations said insurers for the former Weinstein studio would pay for the settlement, according to the NY Times. Weinstein will not have to admit to any wrongdoing or pay anything.
Harvey Weinstein had been accused of sexual misconduct by more than 70 women dating back decades, but has denied the allegations. Weinstein said all of his sexual encounters were consensual.
This settlement will end most civil lawsuits by actresses and his former employees that had accused Weinstein of sexual offenses ranging from sexual harassment to rape.
