“I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail,” Evan Rachel Wood, 33, wrote in a post on her Instagram account Monday, adding “I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives.”
Wood said, “The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” adding, “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years.”
Evan Rachel Wood has frequently spoken about being abused in a relationship but had not named a person until her recent post to Instagram. Wood and Manson began dating publicly when she was was still a teen and he was 38. Wood said that she was “brainwashed and manipulated into submission” by Manson, adding, “I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

In 2017 Evan Rachel Wood identified herself as a sexual assault victim, during the #MeToo movement, saying at the time, “Being raped once made it easier to be raped again. I instinctually shut down. My body remembered, so it protected me. I disappeared. #metoo.”
Loma Vista Recordings, Marilyn Manson’s record label, released a statement announcing they will “cease to further promote his current album” and has decided not to work with him on any future projects due to the “disturbing allegations.” It is unknown if Evan Rachel Wood will be placing sexual abuse or sexual assault charges against her former fiancé Marilyn Manson.
