According to The Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump had his lawyer arrange a payment of $130,000 to a woman known as Stormy Daniels, just a month before the 2016 presidential election.
Daniels, the former adult-film star whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claimed the sexual encounter with Trump occurred after a Lake Tahoe celebrity golf tournament in 2006, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Clifford announced a potential Senate campaign run in her home state of Louisiana in 2009, but was arrested in Tampa, Florida on domestic violence charges two months before.
Donald Trump’s lawyer told The Wall Street Journal, “President Trump once again vehemently denies any such occurrence, as has Ms. Daniels”, but the statement did not confirm or deny the reported payment of $130,000 to Clifford.
