Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson denies allegations of making inflammatory online comments, facing growing scrutiny as he continues his campaign for North Carolina governor.

North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson, the Republican nominee for governor, is facing intense scrutiny after a CNN report linked him to inflammatory online comments made over a decade ago on a pornographic website. The report details how Robinson allegedly referred to himself as a “Black Nazi” and made disturbing statements praising slavery, expressing his enjoyment of transgender pornography, and using derogatory language about several minority groups.

The news comes at a critical time for Robinson’s campaign, which has been struggling in recent polls. His controversial past remarks, including derogatory comments about the LGBTQ+ community, Jews, and calls for violence, have already created waves during his run for governor. The new revelations could further damage both his campaign and former President Donald Trump, who has endorsed Robinson, in a key swing state.

In a video released on X (formerly Twitter), Robinson denied the allegations, calling them “outrageous lies” and comparing himself to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who once referred to a sexual harassment investigation as a “high-tech lynching.” Robinson insists that the comments in the CNN report do not reflect his character and has refused to drop out of the race.

CNN linked Robinson to the username “minisoldr,” which was used on multiple online platforms, including AdultFriendFinder, YouTube, and Amazon. The profile reportedly contained personal details aligning with Robinson’s background, including his age, name, location, and marriage information. The report also highlighted that Robinson frequently used uncommon phrases such as “gag a maggot” and “I don’t give a frog’s ass,” which matched language he has used publicly.

One of the most damaging claims is Robinson’s alleged praise for slavery, where he reportedly expressed his desire for it to return, stating, “Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves. I would certainly buy a few.” Additionally, he is said to have referred to civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. as a “commie bastard” and made other inflammatory remarks that raised questions about his stance on race and equality.

Robinson’s political rise began in 2018 when he delivered a viral pro-gun speech at a Greensboro City Council meeting. This led to his election as lieutenant governor in 2020, making him the first Black man to hold the office in North Carolina. He has since become known for his strong stance on conservative issues such as gun rights, opposition to abortion, and criticisms of critical race theory.

Despite the mounting controversy, Robinson remains firm in his intention to continue his campaign, stating, “We’re not gonna let them do that. We’re staying in this race, we are in it to win it.” However, some Republican figures in North Carolina have expressed concerns over the impact of the allegations, with calls for him to step down, including from state Senate nominee Scott Lassiter, who stated, “Wrong is still wrong, and if the recent allegations against Robinson are true, combined with his previous public rhetoric, I believe it’s time for him to step aside.”

Political observers believe the allegations could have significant implications not just for Robinson’s campaign, but for Donald Trump’s chances in the battleground state as well. The former president’s endorsement of Robinson had initially boosted his profile, but the ongoing scandal may create complications for both campaigns.
