Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife, Amber Heard, after their short lived marriage for defamation over abuse claims Heard made against him in 2018. Heard claimed Depp gave her two black eyes the night prior to her appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2015.

Amber Heard could face up to three years in jail, according to the International Business Times, if the Aquaman star is found guilty for falsifying evidence against Depp.

Court documents revealed that Amber Heard’s stylist at the time, Samantha McMillen, stated that she did not see any bruises on the actress, “Throughout the day of December 16, 2015, I could see clearly that Amber Heard did not have any visible marks, bruises, cuts, or injuries to her face or any other part of her body”.

The famous couple met while filming ‘The Rum Diary’ in 2011 and were married in February, 2015. Amber Heard filed for divorce from Johnny Depp in May 2016, and was finalized in January 2017. Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against her in after Heard wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post in December, 2018 where she again said Depp had physically abused her.
